xThe Ellis family vineyards lie in the Mount Gambier GI, located in the Kongorong area southwest of Mount Gambier. The proximity to the Southern Ocean provides the coolest maritime climate of mainland Australia, this cool climate extends the ripening of fruit throughout Autumn, ideal for accumulation of flavour and optimum ripening. The vineyards are planted in fractured Limestone, this flinty surface contributes to the mineral elements and the hint of gun smoke character in the wine.
